How AI & GPP collects, uses and protects your personal data.

This notice explains what personal data AI & GPP (“we”) collects when you use this website, why we collect it and what rights you have.

What we collect

  • Newsletter subscribers: your email address and, if you choose to give them, your name, organisation, role and sector.
  • Members: your name, email address, password (stored only in encrypted, hashed form), and optionally your organisation, role, sector and country.
  • Contact form: your name, email, organisation (optional) and message.
  • Technical data: standard server logs and, where enabled, privacy-respecting analytics about how pages are used. We store a one-way hash of IP addresses to prevent abuse of our forms.

Why we use it

  • To send The Cable and occasional editorial updates you have asked for (consent).
  • To provide your account and give you access to members’ content (contract).
  • To respond to messages, tips and corrections (legitimate interests).
  • To understand our readership in aggregate, improve our journalism and, where relevant, invite you to briefings and events connected to our coverage (legitimate interests). You can object at any time.

We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Account data is kept while your account is active; you can ask us to delete it at any time. Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with them.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to processing, or withdraw consent at any time. Every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link, and members can change their preferences on the account page. To exercise any other right, contact us. You also have the right to complain to your data-protection authority.
